Knights Ferry Road Race

Course is an out and back format, mostly flat with a few rollers and one climb that you go over in each direction with the finish line at the top of the main climb. This year it wasn’t too cold for the race, high 50’s and the wind was a slight crosswind of about 5 mph which increased in the afternoon.

“…I passed the guy whose wheel I was following and then as I was passing the guy who initially jumped from the field, I realized the race leader had CRACKED and was only 20 meters in front of me! I was closing quickly, but not quick enough! The last 200 meters to the line flattens out to about 1-2% and the race leader crossed the line about 12 feet in front of me. Good effort by the team that resulted in a 2nd place finish. Next time…” – Mike Ricks
